10 Beauty Rituals To Show Yourself Some LOVE Tonight!
I don’t know about you, but I sure do LOVE me a good cup of tea!
But, have you any idea of the many other ways that there are to enjoy and benefit from a cup of tea beside just sitting down and drinking it?
Tea is such a marvelous addition to your beauty regime. Please let me share with you some of the best recipes I have found to get the most out of your delicious cuppa!

Bath-time Beverage (The Bomb!)
Green tea is a delicious drink for your skin as it is full of antioxidants and nutrients. By sipping a cup or two of green tea a day you are on the right path to keeping your beauty intact.
By now, it’ no secret that tons of research show without a doubt that green tea helps combat signs of aging. But have you ever considered bathing in it? No! Well, you should, and it’s so easy to do.
By adding 5 to 10 green tea bags to your bath, you allow your skin to soak up those antioxidants, nutrients and B vitamins. You’ll be amazed how this will help your skin become silky soft.
The water will turn a grey-green color as you let the tea bags infuse in it for approximately 20 minutes. Add a little more jazz and awesome benefits by sprinkling in a 1/2 cup of Epsom Salts. I like my bath hot but bearable. It’s important, though, not to have it too hot. Water that is too hot will dehydrate the skin.
Matcha Green Tea Bombs are an excellent addition to your new bath-time routine. They are simple to make too! I’ve included the recipe here for you:
2 Tbsp. Matcha Green Tea
1 Cup Baking Soda
1/4 Cup Corn Starch
1/2 Cup of Citric Acid
1/4 Cup Epsom Salts
2 Tbsp. Almond Oil
1/4 tsp. of an Essential Oil that you love (lavender and eucalyptus are yummy with this)
A Spray Bottle Filled With Water (you’ll be misting). You don’t want to add the water all at once because it will create too much fizz in the ingredients. You want to SAVE THE FIZZ for your bath or shower.
What you will need to do is mix the dry ingredients together with a fork (or hands) inside a bowl, then gradually add the liquid ingredients and continue mixing.
When everything is thoroughly mixed, spray a light mist of water over top and gently mix some more.
You will want to create a dry paste, which is precisely the texture that you want. Keep misting little by little until you are satisfied with the consistency of the paste. It should hold together but not be too wet. Remember: Dry Paste
Once you have that consistency, you can create small balls with it for a very organic handmade look, or you can add the paste to cupcake liners (fill about halfway) that have been placed into a cupcake baking pan or directly into a non-stick muffin or cupcake pan. Heck, you can even use non-stick ice cube trays!
Flatten the paste into the cupcake liners or whatever else you’ve chosen as a mold, leave for a couple of hours to dry (drying time will depend on your climate), and you will have yourself some beautiful handcrafted and deliciously pampering bath bombs!

Sun Soothing System
If you have ever been out on a hot sunny day and forgotten to apply your sun lotion, you’ll love how Tea can come to your skin’s aid.
Put the kettle on and make yourself a lovely cup of tea to relax with (we all know how the sun can zap our energy). In another cup, just for your skin, add a couple more tea bags and wet with warm water. Then apply the wet teabags to any sun burnt areas and feel the instant relief.
You can also use this method for other burns, including razor burns. Tea takes the sting out right away.
As a weekly beauty ritual, you can’t beat a face mask for improving your skin’s complexion. Open up two used green tea bags, or use 2 tsp. of brewed loose leaves and add 1/2 a teaspoon of lemon juice to a bowl. You have just made yourself a face mask.
Apply the mix to your face using cotton balls and leave to dry. You can leave your face mask on for about 10 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.
This super simple face mask is great for your skin. The combination of the green tea and lemon will leave your skin with a beautiful, healthy glow.
Tea for Tear Puffed Eyes
I love a good romantic film, but unfortunately, I am prone to crying when watching one. Once, this was a problem as it left me with hugely unattractive puffy eyes. Not cute at all!
So you can imagine my excitement when I discovered that tea was the answer.
Yes, that’s right. Tea is once again the perfect beauty remedy for all us overly sentimental souls.
All you need to do to get rid of your tear-puffed eyes is add some warm water to two tea bags. I just warm up a cup of water in the microwave, steep the bags for a minute, remove and carefully squeeze the excess water from the bags and then apply them to both eyes.
Relax for ten or fifteen minutes and allow the tea bags to work their magic. When you remove them, your eyes will feel wonderfully restored. And a heck of a lot less puffy!
Say Goodbye to Grey
I’ve already mentioned the benefits of green tea for anti-aging. But black tea has its own as well. This time, though, it is for your hair rather than your skin.
You can avoid the nasty chemicals in store bought hair dye by making a tea based dye to keep the gray away. Like all the other home remedies I’ve mentioned this is another super easy method.
Take three tea bags and leave them to steep in a cup of boiling water. Add one tablespoon of sage and one tablespoon of rosemary; you can use either dried or fresh leaves.
Leave the cup with the tea bags to infuse overnight and then strain the liquid into a spray bottle. The next time you wash your hair, shampoo as normal and rinse.
Then spray the liquid onto your hair making sure you cover it thoroughly. Do not rinse this time, just pat your hair dry with a towel. Or wrap the towel around your head and leave on for a while, so it soaks up some of the liquid.
One note of caution; this concoction is like any other hair dye, so be careful you don’t stain your clothes and use a towel that you won’t mind if it gets stained.
You might have to repeat this a few times before you achieve the look or results that make you happy.
Rinse and Repeat for Shiny Hair
As well as creating a natural dye for your hair, tea is also terrific for adding shine to lackluster hair.
You just need to steep a few black or green tea bags in some boiling water for about 10 minutes. Let the tea cool for a couple of hours. Shampoo and rinse your hair, then add the tea rinse and leave on for about 10 minutes. Finish by conditioning your hair as normal and get ready for that shine!
Sweet Smelling Toes
Now, this just happens to be one of my favorite uses for tea!
After a long day on your feet, there’s nothing better to help you unwind than a soothing, warm foot bath. And the added bonus of a tea infused foot bath is that it also takes care of any possible foot odor.
Just soak those tired feet for twenty minutes in a bowl of strong warm tea. You won’t regret it!
Wanna keep it SIMPLE or JAZZ it up? I love to throw in a few drops of my favorite Essential Oil and turn it into a lovely relaxing aromatherapy experience while I’m at it!
My next delicious tea remedy is less about beauty than it is about your dental hygiene. Because honestly, who looks their best when suffering from sore gums or a toothache?
A hot cup of peppermint tea with a dash of salt results in a blissfully magical mouthwash. Peppermint is a natural antiseptic and is often used to flavor toothpaste. By swirling this homemade recipe around your mouth, you will find almost instant relief.
Tea Drink Your Way to Weight Loss
With all these external beauty remedies I bet you thought I’d forgotten about the benefits of drinking a cup of tea (or two or three). Not so! There is yet another tremendously important aspect of green tea obtained only by drinking it.
